The Parker Lab @ Scripps Research
Broadly speaking, the Parker Lab seeks to develop chemistry-enabled strategies to investigate human biology and disease pathology. Our research integrates chemical synthesis with mass spectrometry and cell/molecular biology to (1) help illuminate molecular mechanisms that contribute to diseases, such as cancer, and (2) to study how small molecules might regulate, or be designed to regulate, complex biological processes, such as immune responses and metabolism. Our primary objectives are not only to better understand protein function and corresponding disease roles, but also to create chemical tools and technologies that might facilitate the development of new therapeutic solutions.
